A Note About the Authors
For over twenty-five years John and Mary Ann Boyd taught in the Illinois State University Laboratory Schools while also teaching in summer programs at Harvard University and Saint Michael’s College. They have taught in Fiji, Japan, and China, and conducted teacher education workshops in the United States, the Philippines and Thailand. The Boyds have written several English-as-a-second/foreign-language texts, specializing in materials for beginning learners. Both are past presidents of Illinois TESOL/BE. In 2003, Mary Ann was elected to a three-year term on the International TESOL Board of Directors.
