The writing strand of the Interactions Mosaic 4th Edition series addresses the academic writing needs of students at five language proficiency levels. Each student book contains theme-based chapters in which students progress step-by-step through the complete writing process.
Access combines both the reading and writing strands in one student text.
Interactions 1 and 2 focus on the rhetorical modes of description, narration, exposition, classification, and persuasion. Skills and strategies include interviewing, ordering information, using time sequence, making an idea map, making an outline, organizing information according to importance, analyzing narrative organization, and obtaining information from graphics.
Mosaic 1 and 2 cover such skills and strategies as editing for paragraph unity and organization, editing for paragraph coherence and conclusion, analyzing advantages and disadvantages, speculating, editing for main idea and levels of generality, recognizing cultural humor, revising, and considering alternative opinions.
Students can benefit from additional practice activities at the on-line learning center
